Things continue to spiral down for creator Neil Gaiman with Netflix announcing that they are officially cancelling The Sandman with it’s second season following the tremendous backlash the author garnered in recent days.
Netflix released a social media post and an official statement regarding the show’s state and what’s going to happen moving forward.

The Sandman showrunner Allan Heinberg has stated that they had enough material from the books to get one more season out and that was that. Heinberg added that he and the team were grateful for Netflix for getting them back together for another season and giving them the time and the resource to do a faithful adaptation that should delight comic book fans and new fans of the show as well.
Gaiman is in serious hot water in recent weeks with a full expose written about him online and the public getting more details about his sordid affairs and deeds with various women including his own kid’s nanny. The Vulture’s Neil Gaiman piece really did break Gaiman’s reputation and painting a completely different person from what we are used to seeing and hearing online.
