Jason Momoa as Lobo is officially happening under James Gunn’s DC Universe
Jason Momoa as Lobo aka the unkillable Czarnian bounty hunter is definitely happening in the big screen under James Gunn’s and Peter Safran’s DC Studios/ DC Universe.
The actor didn’t reveal this through normal ways but rather reposting an old social media post on his Instagram account followed by the caption “they called”.

As a DC Fan, this was the best last minute gift announcement for me. Momoa not only has the build and the look to play the crazy interstellar bounty hunter but he’s also got the natural appeal and the natural acting skill to play the crazy bastich. He can be so out-of-his-mind-he’s-sane like the unkillable big boy so this is a perfect fit. If you’ve seen his take as Dante in Fast X, you’ll know what I mean.
Now lets go back to a few years ago when Zack Snyder was still building the fledgling DC Expanded Universe film franchise which started off with Man of Steel. Remember how geeks all wanted Momoa to play Lobo but instead he got cast as Aquaman and even become the first character to be teased for Justice League / Batman v Superman.
And now we’ve grown accustomed to Momoa as Aquaman aka Arthur Curry but then the DCEU died and James Gunn and Peter Safran took over and rechristened the franchis as DC Universe under DC Studios. Watch the video below to see what Chapter 1 projects will be coming including the Supergirl movie.
The Supergirl movie which is officially titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be directed by Craig Gillespie and stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl, Jason Momoa as Lobo and Matthias Schoenaerts.
