Whoscall Reaches out to online media in a bid to fight phone scams with the Whoscall App
Whoscall, the leading app to identify online scams, recently held an online media and blogger meet-up in their continued effort to combat online scams and phone scams!
The event was held at the Burnt Bean in Bonifacio High Street last November 21 with several key bloggers in attendance.
In between good food and laughs, the Whoscall team took turns presenting everything to know about Whoscall, as a company and as a product spearheaded by Mel Migrino (Regional Director for Information Security and Alliances & Philippines Country Head, Gogolook) as well as…
… Gabe Barrios, the Philippines Country Head for Whoscall.
During their short talks, they were able to explain and detail who and what Whoscall is. Their data and information scientists have gone through mountain of caller number data searching for the most optimal method of identifying an unknown number to build a trustworthy communications environment.
Installing the Whoscall app is the key to securing your Digital Life.
The app also features a powerful Caller and Message ID that can help identify scammers, it also features integrated features with other communication apps like WhatsApp and Viber.
More importantly, you can also use the WhosCall to take charge of your data and know if it has been leaked with its “ID Security” feature.
Lastly for the free version of the Whoscall app, is the Web Checker which screens the websites you would visit or plan to visit using your smartphone. This comes in handy when it comes to browsing various websites on your phones. It takes away the risks of falling victim to phishing websites. As you know, Phishing websites aim to get your data and more by disguising as a familiar website.
And if you want to push things further, you can also opt to get the Whoscall Premium Basic which also provides more audio-based functions to further enhance your security and keep away the scamming and the harmful attacks.
One of the cooler features and one that WE all need right now is the Auto Scam/Spam Call Blocker; it lets your phone automatically block spam calls wholly based on their database. If that number had previously scammed or spammed somebody it gets flagged automatically and all Whoscall users will never be bothered ever again.
The meet-up wasn’t all business though as the bloggers and online media in attendance also had fun with some games and one lucky attendee even went home with a brand new Nintendo Switch Lite.
Mr. Jocel De Guzman of Truth360 and ScamWatch also closed out the event by thanking everybody who attended. He reiterated that they will continue to fight scammers and online spammers with the technology they have to keep every Filipino safe from these devious individuals.
