realme 13 5G Review – Gamer Friendly, Budget Friendly Phone
Today let’s do this realme 13 5G review which is now in stores nationwide and available as well on Shopee and TikTok.
This series focuses on performance rather than the camera and its loaded with stuff that will make you want to play more games. For starters this comes with a Dimensity 6300 chipset, as well as a 5,000mAh battery, and it wouldn’t be a gamer-friendly phone if it didn’t have a large display which in tlarge 6.72-inch display. Before we begin, we have to note that our review unit comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Design
The realme 13 5G comes with a polycarbonate material back side with the main camera found in the middle area with a little bit of protrusion, definitely sticking to the design for most of the smartphones that came out this year and last year. There are two variants for this model namely the Speed Green and the Dark Purple. The review unit was Speed Green, wasn’t a fan but you’ll grow into it soon enough.
The realme 13 5G also comes with a standard buttons for Android phones namely the power button and the volume buttons on the right side of the phone. Meanwhile you can find the speaker, the Type C USB port and the 3.5mm Headset Jack at the bottom.
This smartphone can also do dual SIM or you can have one SIM card and one memory card to expand your phone’s memory. Also don’t be surprised to see the SIM port to be on the top part of the phone.
Display
The main selling point for the realme 13 5G in terms of display would be the 120Hz FHD+ Eye Comfort Display. Its such a mouthful to say but its actually a cool concept. Since this is a performance phone you would be expecting to put your gaze here more often so the folks at realme decided to give us a nice display with 120Hz refresh rate perfect for gaming and streaming movies and videos. Its big enough to get everything in the screen especially when playing MOBA games. .
Camera
The realme 13 5G comes equipped with a 50MP OIS + 2MP dual rear camera setup and a 16MP front camera that is perfect for capturing lively selfies and 2K video at 30 FPS while offering a wide range of photography options. The camera is OK but again the emphasis of this version is on performance and gaming. You want all out DSLR levels of photos then you might want to get the 13 Pro Series. But this can still can deliver the good stuff. The realme 13 5G comes with a 50MP OIS Camera.
Check out some of the natural light and low light shots.
Other functions for the camera includes Photo, Video, Street, Portrait, Night, Pano, Dual-View Video, Time-Lapse, Pro, Slo-Mo, Hi-res, Tilt-Shift, Text Scanner, Movie.
For me the phone’s biggest strength comes when shooting low light and natural subjects. Food shots like the one you see up top is also good but again, the focus of this line is performance for games and entertainment. You want vivid colors and sharper images, go for the realme 13 Pro series.
Selfie / Front Camera
We also have a decent front camera here with the realme 13 5G. It can shoot up to 16MP with several options and functions namely Photo, Video, Portrait, Night, Pano, Dual-View Video, Time-Lapse. Our lovely subject, Charess will tell you that with good lighting and proper angles, you can knock out those selfies.
Battery
The realme 13 5G comes with a 5000 mAh battery that can also do fast charging up to 45W. Its an impressive feat for this price point and it also comes in handy if your playing mobile games and you need to charge up as soon as possible.
Gaming
One of the biggest features for the realme 13 Series 5G would have to be cooling system. The phone is designed to stay cool for a long time thanks to the GT Mode as well as the Vapor Chamber Cooling System. Unlike past versions of the GT Mode for Android, the realme 13 Series 5G lets you play games with higher frame rates while still maintaining its cool.
Aside from efficiently handling intense productivity and producing stunning visuals, the realme 13 Series 5G guarantees an uninterrupted user experience by keeping its temperature in check. The phone is designed to stay cool for a long time with its built-in GT Mode and Vapor Chamber Cooling System. This is what I used to enjoy Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail among other games.
of course there are a lot of other games like esports staples Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends Bang Bang.
Moreover, the Vapor Chamber Cooling System features graphite sheets and other high-quality conductive materials in a 9-layer arrangement, making sure that the heat from the phone is dissipated effectively and the temperature reduced by an average of 12°C no matter what application is running, providing a stable and seamless experience whatever the challenge.
Performance
The realme 13 Series 5G runs on the latest model of Android, Android 14 running concurrently with realme UI 5.0 OS. Together with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and the Adreno 710, we got the perfect combination of a winning smartphone for gaming.
Storage-wise I also can’t complain because the realme 13 Series 5G comes with 256GB storage meaning you can store a lot of photos, videos and yes more games on your phone.
For aspiring content creators, photographers, and more, the realme 13 Series 5G goes beyond the game and gives them a limitless speed to victory. The realme 13 5G, is available in Speed Green and Dark Purple for P16,999, and the realme 13+ 5G offered in Victory Gold and Dark Purple for P19,999.
