Uncanny X-Men # 7 cover pays homage to Marvel vs Capcom
Dave Marquez sure gave us something to talk about today in the form of the reveal the Uncanny X-Men # 7 cover.
You can check out the full cover below
The book will be the fourth part of the Raid on Greymalkin story arc that pits Cyclops and his X-Men against Rogue’s Uncanny X-Men.
And here’s the material they paid homage to…
It’s even nice to know that there were some characters from the MvC poster made it to the Uncanny X-Men # 7 cover including Cyclops, Wolverine, Juggernaut, Gambit, Rogue, Psylocke and Jubilee.
This would be the last chapter in the “Raid of Greymalkin” crossover between Jed MacKay’s X-Men and Gail Simone’s Uncanny X-Men books with both teams trying to save a prisoner being held at the Greymalking formerly their home and now converted into a prison for what humans considered “dangerous” mutants.
In the recent “From the Ashes” books, they were kind of teasing or hinting at the possibility of the prisoner inside Greymalkin was Charles Xavier but it could be somebody else. In Uncanny X-Men # 2 we found out that they were also keeping former X-Force and X-Factor member Siryn inside and they plan to use her and her powers for something big.
Raid on Greymalkin also teases a potential fight between the two teams’ leaders Cyclops and Rogue which has already been hinted in both the adjectiveless and Uncanny X-Men books.
