XIAOMI Smart Band 9 Review
Here’s my review for the XIAOMI Smart Band 9 which is now available with SRP ₱1,699 and is now available on Shopee, Lazada and in Xiaomi stores nationwide!
The latest offering for the Smartband line of Xiaomi continues to work its magic with the IoT or Internet of Things as a strong guiding principle which is why Xiaomi has taken new innovations to deliver a really promising smartband with fitness and connectivity in mind.
I brought this unit along for the Xiaomi Pop Run 2024 and it did not disappoint.
Also yes, I got the pink one; which is one of the main options for you to choose from and something that other brands don’t recognize as an important factor when it comes to purchases – people will always go for their colors and that can determine initial sales. For the Xiaomi Smartband 9 there are several colors for you to choose from namely Glacier Silver, Midnight Black, Arctic Blue, and Mystic Rose. There will be a new one coming out shortly and that would be called Titan Gray.
One of the main features I loved from previous iterations has returned with some new tweaks and that’s the heart rate monitor which Xiaomi says got a 16% improvement from the last year’s model. With this fine-tuning we get reliable all-day heart rate monitoring without the need of constantly going for a heart check from a hospital or a clinic. It’s right there for you to use anytime.
Other modes that also make its return albeit with a fine tuning here and there are the SpO2 tracker and the 7-day resting heart rate monitor.
Working out is also a better with the Xiaomi Smartband 9 as it takes precise measurements of your workout. And as for sleeping, it’s also got an in-depth sleep insight report that basically tells you whether you are having enough hours of sleep and if you’ve gotten a “restful sleep” (yes there’s a difference between just normal sleep and a restful sleep).
The band’s strap is also the same but it does feel a lot more tactile than the Smartband 8.
The Smart Band 9 also comes with all the right gears for people who are into running and marathon training as it gives you a quick look into your heart rate and help provide data that you can use as you run as seen through the Xiaomi Pop Run 2024 with all runners of different ages and sizes utilizing the smartband to their advantage.
The battery life for the band is also quite interesting as its loaded with 233mAh battery which means you get a working Smart Band 9 for up to 21 days of continuous usage that’s perfect for people with an active lifestyle. I’m also a fan of the 1.62″ AMOLED display on this one and I could clearly see the display even during the early mornings that the Pop Run happened. And if you want to be a tad technical about the display and the brightness, this product can reach around 1,200 nits so it was really designed with outdoor activities in mind.
Bluetooth Connectivity isn’t going to be an issue too. You get to do a lot of things and see all sorts of data when you download the Mi Fitness app on the Google Play Store.
Xiaomi Smart Band 9 will be available on Xiaomi’s official Shopee store for an SRP of P1,999 and a special early-bird price of P1,699 until August 21, and in all authorized Xiaomi stores nationwide starting August 29, 2024.
