2K Officially Launches NBA 2K25 in the Philippines at the NBA Store in SM Mall of Asia!
NBA 2K gamers and local Esports fans were treated to a thrilling morning with the showcase of NBA 2K25, the latest iteration of the top-selling NBA video game simulation series, earlier today during its official launch at the NBA Store in SM Mall of Asia, which was headlined by a series of exhibition games with local Esports players and new and exciting developments around the game for Filipino fans.
The event was attended by 2K Games Senior Marketing Manager Wayne Ng, NBA Philippines Senior Manager for Merchandising Pat Giron, NBA Store Philippines Chief Operating Officer Fatima Pilares, and notable members of the Philippine Esports community.
Hosted in a Blacktop format, the two exhibition games featured the finalists of the first-ever University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Esports Tournament paired up with two local personalities. UAAP Season 87 Esports Tournament champion Paolo Medina took the stage with TV personality and host Vince Velasco against UAAP Esports Tournament 1st runner-up Keegan Yap and radio DJ Gino Quillamor, where the duo of Yap and Quillamor emerged victorious with a final score of 11-9. They would then compete against eGilas stalwarts Miguel Hubillar and Paolo Madronio, which would witness the national team players coming out on top, 11-6.
Headlining the launch, 2K unveiled the inclusion of the Philippine Men’s National Team jersey for the first time in the NBA 2K series, which will allow players to obtain the uniform in MyCAREER mode and wear in The City.
This year, players can enjoy a newly-revamped City that includes the return of MyCOURT, iconic NBA 2K MyPARKs, and the Boulevard of the Stars where anyone can play anywhere and win everywhere. Players can also ball over everything with the latest development of ProPLAY as the technology now takes key authentic movements from actual footage of NBA games and integrates it to the game. Along with an all-new dribble engine, ProPLAY gives the 2K25 experience a more raw and real feel with over 9000 new in-game animations.
Apart from this, NBA 2K25 sees major upgrades for MyTEAM with Triple Threat Park, Breakout, Showdown, and King of the Court to refresh the mode’s experience and provide more opportunities for gameplay when players recruit new cards from a retooled MyTEAM Auction House. MyCAREER mode is now built on deep playoff runs and winning championships with a fresh new flashback story titled, “Heart of a Dynasty”.
As the WNBA continues to progress, players are now presented with the opportunity to surpass WNBA Legends and battle budding stars in NBA 2K25. MyNBA will also feature new updates including “The Steph Era”, where players can rewrite the story of the superteam 2017 Golden State Warriors. Last but not the least, NBA 2K25 will also open MyGM’s first appearance in New Gen and introduce a new tutorial and practice mode named, Learn 2K, to make NBA 2K more accessible for all.
Coming off an NBA championship and an Olympics gold medal, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum graces the NBA 2K25 Standard Edition cover, which retails for Php 4,190. Additionally, the NBA 2K25 All-Star Edition retails for Php 5,990 and features a joint cover of Tatum and two-time WNBA Champion A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces, who becomes the first-ever WNBA player to be featured on a global edition cover of the game.
