Here’s a quick look at Wesley Burt‘s Channing Tatum Gambit concept art from the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine artbook from Marvel and Marvel Studios!
The actor has long been pitching a Gambit solo movie even during the Fox-verse X-Men era. I remember he even went up on stage during the Marvel panel to hangout with the X-Men cast onstage together with the announcement of a Gambit movie. Sadly sometime after that, Disney bought Fox and this project was “pruned” from existence. Tatum who is also currently promoting his film Blink Twice, made a surprise appearance in Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine as a pruned variant in The Void working to take down Cassandra Nova’s rule together with forgotten Marvel heroes such as Wesley Snipes’ Blade the Vampire Hunter, Jennifer Garner’s Elektra from the Daredevil and Elektra movies in the early 2000s and Dafne Keen’s Laura Kinney aka X-23 from the James Mangold film “Logan“.
Tatum’s Gambit has also generated a lot of buzz and even a meme with his famous scene wherein he utters “wooimabouttomakeanameformyselfhere” in his thick Cajun accent.
