First Look at Cells at Work Live Action Movie starring Mei Nagano and Takeru Satoh
Here’s our first look at the upcoming Cells at Work Live Action Movie which stars Mei Nagano as as Red Blood Cell and Takeru Satoh as White Blood Cell.
Sadly they haven’t given us a look at the cute-as-a-button platelet.
Check out the “early teaser trailer” below:
The film will be directed by Hideki Takeuchi and will be written by Yūichi Tokunaga who wrote the live-action Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Liar x Liar, Princess Jellyfish. Warner Bros. Japan is distributing the film.
The Cells at Work! live action movie is also slated for release December 2024. Hopefully this gets imported here in the Philippines especially since the good folks at Warner Bros have a really good track record of doing theatrical releases of movies from Japan.
If this blows up I wonder if we could also get other spinoffs adapted. There are a number of Cells at Work project that have been published by Kodansha in past including: Cells at Work: Bacteria!, Cells at Work!: Neo Bacteria!, Cells at Work! White Brigade, Cells at Work! Baby, Cells NOT at Work!, Cells at Work! Code Black, Cells at Work and Friends!, and Cells at Work: Platelets!.
In terms of anime related stuff, there’s also a ton of stuff that’s readily available via streaming platforms like Crunchyroll and Netflix like the first series that aired back in 2018 and the second season that came out in 2021. There’s also the Cells at Work Code Black Spinoff where the genders of Red Blood Cell and White Blood Cell have been reversed and the stories happen inside the body of a sickly person.
