Predator Versus Black Panther miniseries announced by Wolverine scribe Benjamin Percy
The classic movie monster the Predator is headed to the African nation of Wakanda which pits him directly with the king, Black Panther.
The book is scheduled for release August 21 and will be written by Wolverine writer Benjamin Percy with art by Chris Allen and Ken Lashley.
According to the story beat, the Predator tries to infiltrate Wakanda in search of Vibranium that the other Yautja can use and since it doesn’t plan on asking, the Black Panther is definitely gunning for this.
And vibranium being the central reason for the fight is also something that’s really interesting. Even Percy himself is interested with the concept. Imagine a group of Yautjas hunting powerful enemies all equipped with different types of weapons made out of vibranium. Imagine how hard it would be for enemies to actually fight back and how they have to use their brains instead of brawn to fight just like in the case of the recent Predator installment “Prey”.
Percy added: “If you’re a comics nerd, I will feed you. If you’re a movie nerd, I will feed you too. And if you’ve never read or seen anything about Predator or Black Panther, you can get fed as well. I want these to be evergreen titles, and the best way to accomplish that is to honor legacy while not overly burdening the reader with continuity homework.”
