My Hero Academia: You’re Next is due for release August 2 in Japan and we could be looking at subsequent theatrical release outside some time after. The movie’s plot will be an original one which sees the UA students including Izuku Midoriya aka Deku dealing with a giant fortress and a man that resembles All Might. The film will also be set around the same time in the current anime’s season so it’s around the time that society is in ruins thanks to the villains.
We should expect Kohei Horikoshi’s hand in the film as he will be the chief supervisor as well as original character designer. The actual movie though will be directed by Tensai Okamura while animation will still be done by studio BONES. In addition, staff members from the TV anime and the previous films will work in said film, namely: scriptwriter Yosuke Kuroda, character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, and music composer Yuki Hayashi.
My Hero Academia the Movie: You’re Next is set to premiere this August 2nd in Japan.
