Huawei at CXO Tech Summit 2023 talks about dealing with Ransomware
Huawei was present with at the CXO Tech Summit 2023 and the tech brand talked about Ransomware and how with the right brand and tools, your business will be one step ahead of hackers and other cybersecurity threats.
During the talk, Arnie Alvarez, the CTO of Huawei Cloud discussed the fundamentals of data, data privacy and the importance of keeping your data stored properly whether you are a SME or a bigger corporation.
Storage is a big deal in the digital age and Huawei takes the lead with their 4000 dedicated engineers based exclusively in the Philippines. They have recognized that customers have been keeping their structured data and mostly only that. But then the trend grew to the point where they are looking to go and look at other data to see what they can also keep.
Data management and storage has also evolved to the point that there are actually needs that were not forseen as something to be needed as in the case of a well-known university who created the need to determine if there is a technology to detect any form of cheating in their database.
The answer to this question is on a case to case basis. There are a number of courses and software that can detect everything that is happening within you and that is where technology pushes things forward and also where gaps exist that cybersecurity risks can exploit.
Alvarez adds:
“Our cost of living can be difficult. This is where that data is residing inside your storage after all. And that is where the hackers are trying to hack. And then eventually, the solution that people have will often go ‘Don’t worry, I have my backup’. But what we see is there is a big, big gap. We can fill in that gap. And we have to fill in that gap, four layers of defense, which delivers all the main potential capability. One is we can detain and analyze. We can import data, the data, we can actually back up immediately from a source. We use a proprietary algorithm that understands every single data that comes in and support change.”
So this solution is a blueprint. It is automated you just have we will work with your team to ensure that we wouldn’t be your property. Hey, that’s why are we playing in a weakened attribute? So what happened is actually made the study while we can actually do that, so we use a near data anti ransomware proprietary algorithm. The result is we were able to detect those 200% of what was deemed to be a ransomware ad so we can have more than just easy. So that was the last slide.
