Tito, Vic and Joey – TVJ officially leaves Eat Bulaga
Its an end of an era for Philippine TV as Tito, Vic and Joey aka TVJ leaves Eat Bulaga after more than 40 years serving as mainstay hosts.
The trio was supposed to work today for their daily live show but the new management stopped them from going on air which was also the reason why the episode today was a re-run of an old episode of the long-running variety show which started back in 1979.
That fact was also reiterated by Joey de Leon, Tito Sotto and Vic Sotto during their unaired farewell speech.
For the past few weeks, the Eat Bulaga gang has been experiencing turmoil due to pay disputes with their parent company TAPE Inc. which was owned by the infamous Romeo Jalosjos and his group. You can remember recently the trio had already expressed plans to leave the show and find other projects elsewhere.
They actually got their own projects in Net 25 and we even have billboards and online ads for those.
Then things went quiet until today when the trio were barred from appearing on-air by the new management of TAPE Inc. Vic Sotto closed the speech thanking everybody and almost breaking his voice when he stated the show’s slogan of “Isang Libo, Isang Tuwa”. The video that went online courtesy of PEP also showed the other hosts going near the trio to embrace and show their care for them.
