IT’S CONFIRMED: International artist Jessica Sanchez, Alisson Shore to headline MPL Philippines Season 11 Grand Finals Opening
MANILA, 27 April – MPL stars will convene at the grandest MPL Philippines Playoffs season yet. International artist Jessica Sanchez is set to perform at the MPL-PH Season 11 Grand Finals on May 7, 2023, 4PM. The “Tonight” singer will perform her own rendition of “Lakas ng Pinas” with the song’s composer Alisson Shore and the two grand finalists of the country’s biggest MLBB tournament.
Lakas ng Pinas has been MPL Philippines’ theme song since Season 9 that proudly highlights the strengths of the Philippines in the MLBB Esports scene. The country has been arguably the strongest nation in MLBB with its number of awards and recognitions worldwide, including three (3) consecutive M World championship titles, two (2) SEA Games gold medals, and three (3) MLBB Southeast Asia Cup championship titles.
“Lakas ng Pinas is an anthem that perfectly expresses Filipino MLBB athletes’ incomparable competence in gaming and esports. I am excited to perform this along with Alisson who poured his heart into crafting this song. I hope the MPL PH community is as excited as I am,” said the Filipino-American singer-songwriter.
MPL imports are also expected to witness historic matches among the top six teams onsite. Straight from Indonesia, Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol (ONIC Esports), Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy (Geek Slate), Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera (EVOS Legends), and Jian Paulo Magno Munsayac (ex-Bigetron Alpha coach) will grace the venue to support their former teammates.
Meanwhile, Robert Remar “Hito” Candoy (Team HAQ) and Coach Dale Vitug (HomeBois) from Malaysia will also visit the playoffs to cheer for their friends representing different teams.
The grand finals day will witness the top two MPL Philippines teams duking it out to take home the most-coveted title and represent the country in the upcoming mid-year international tournament MSC 2023.
