Power Rangers star Jason David Frank passes away at 49
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers star Jason David Frank has passed away yesterday according to multiple sources.
TMZ reports that the cause of death was suicide.
Frank became a big star when he played the role of Tommy Oliver in the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as the Green Ranger. He has been actively appearing in public for over thirty years and celebrated by fans globally because of his involvement in the long running franchise.
Frank’s character Tommy has also gone through numerous changes through the years. After playing the evil and good Green Ranger he returned to the series as a regular taking over as the leader of the team as the White Ranger.
After that series ended, he played the role of the Red Ranger in both Power Rangers Zeo…
… and other subsequent Power Rangers series.
He has also appeared in a number of Power Rangers series as a guest star where he still reprises his role as Tommy Oliver. Even cooler was the time he appeared in the trailer for Power Rangers Shattered Grid where he played Lord Drakkon.

Before his tragic death, the actor was also actively promoting his creator-owned character through a movie he’s shooting titled Legend of the White Dragon which was a collaboration with Bat in the Sun set for an online release in 2023! Check out the trailer below:
