“The YGG Roadtrip is one of our many efforts to ensure support for the community while expanding our impact beyond the metaverse,” YGG Pilipinas Country Manager Luis Buenaventura said. “We are working closely with local community leaders, service providers, and key players in the metaverse to foster and sustain valuable relationships starting with this road trip.”

In partnership with BlockchainSpace, Fancy Birds, XLD Finance and with the help of the official venue sponsor SM City Baguio, official media partner YGG Alerts and official tournament sponsor Sky Mavis, YGG further solidified its social impact and footprint in physical environments through the YGG Roadtrip, a roadshow where YGG visits key areas where play-to-earn gaming thrives, meet up with local communities, and prepare exciting activities for them.

The kick-off event had four main segments for attendees— a play-to-earn community Tournament, a Meet & Greet with the guild’s key figures, an Experience Zone where registered attendees could try out various NFT games and visit booths to accomplish tasks as part of the Expo Quest, and a Literacy Session where partners and guild leaders shared their knowledge and learnings with the community.

The program ran for about eight hours and was graced by YGG managers Kookoo and Spraky who shared their respective play-to-earn quests, and some members of the YGG All Stars Vittorio Miguel “VMG” Gonzales, Enrico Jerome “Boarknock” Tollongco, and Gerald Rivera “Jobols” Domingo and Een Mercado. Special prizes were given to the participants such as the Pilipinas Roadtrip swag bag which includes a tote bag, shirt, and cap, as well as merch from Roadtrip partners and sponsors.

“Fostering meaningful relationships takes transcending digital boundaries. We believe that this roadtrip will create mutually beneficial local partnerships,” Buenaventura quipped. The City of Pines is only YGG Roadtrip’s first stopover as it was just the commencement of their journey towards the first-ever P2E Summit in 2023 led by YGG.

The first-ever YGG Roadtrip Champion Jan Karlo Gascon a.k.a. Dubukid was crowned at the event, “It’s awesome that P2E players like me are now getting recognition with initiatives like this. I’m excited and will be preparing for the final battle,” he said.

Following Baguio, target locations for the next YGG Roadtrip stops are Batangas City, Davao City, Cabanatuan City, Iloilo City, and Cebu City.

To ensure that all attendees were following minimum health standards, there were safety ushers as well as disinfectants in the event place.
