Johnny Depp wins defamation trial, pens message and condemns “cancel culture”
Johnny Depp has officially won his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard after a very public trial.
He went to Instagram to post a message which also touched on cancel culture which happened to him after Heard’s OP piece that got published and painted the “Pirates of the Carribean” as a villain and wife beater.
Here’s what he posted on Instagram:
He also says that he is happy with the support he has received throughout the trial and also thanked the judge and jury and his lawyers.
Now we need to know what his next move would be. He lost his role as Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts films getting replaced by Mads Mikkelsen.
He is also no longer going to be Captain Jack Sparrow as the trial and initial Amber Heard piece has soured the relationship between Disney and Depp. Depp has gone as far as saying that he won’t be coming back even if they paid him millions. In turn Disney has made announcements that the Pirates franchise will continue without Depp, opting to cast Margot Robbie as a new character.
