Not only does Cody Rhodes returns to Wrestlemania, he also manages to win against the clearly heel-ish Seth Rollins. The match was pretty good and still managed to look Rollins good even if he’s technically the bad guy in this scenario.
The short story about Rhodes return is that he was fed up with WWE during his first run with the company and got his request for a release granted. He jumped over to the indies as well as the in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Here he joined up with the legendary Bullet Club faction where he worked together with the likes of Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks. He has had some memorable matches with the company including a feud with Malakai Black. He then joined Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling where he served as both talent and creative officer until his departure.
