Sonic the Hedgehog 2 post-credit scene explainer
In case you didn’t know, there is a Sonic the Hedgehog 2 post-credit scene neatly placed at the end of the movie. The film by the way is now showing in theaters and stars Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Jim Carrey and Idris Elba and directed by Jeff Fowler.
Before we proceed, SPOILER ALERT
In the end credits, we see the army working through the damage that Dr. Robotnik has done with his giant mech which he created using the Chaos Crystal. An officer is seen giving Olive Garden Guy one important file from Dr. Robotnik’s stuff which details a secret project that was started as early as the 1950s. The scene shifts towards a secret facility that comes to life and a hatch opens showing Shadow the Hedgehog seemingly frozen in ice but then he begins to move.
Of course this would mean that Shadow the Hedgehog will be the main villain for the next Sonic movie. And same goes with Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik. Here’s to hoping though that they don’t follow the same formula of this movie and find something different in terms of telling the story.
And because Shadow the Hedgehog’s backstory is so muddy as hell, here’s to hoping that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will give fans the definitive origin story for Shadow.
