MPL-PH rookies taking over MPL-PH S9? Don’t miss out on Week 2!
The opening week of the MPL-PH Season 9 was a surprising turn of events. Blacklist International, the most-projected team to lead the games, stumbled in their first few matches. On the other hand, both TNC and ECHO gave astonishingly amazing performances, becoming the top teams to conclude the week. They were not at the top of power ranking predictions, but these underdogs shocked everyone with their gaming strategy.
For TNC, the historic esports organization tried different approaches to set up a formidable team. While the team has yet to earn its MPL stripes, they will not bide their time for too long with Shemaiah Daniel “SDzyz” Chu on their side. It is worth noting that this promising athlete has the third-highest recorded total kills (21), most MVPs (3), second-most secured Turtle (10), and most secured Lord (8) in just WK 1.
Meanwhile, Jomarie “Escalera” Delos Santos is leading the pack in damage dealt/gold. He came from humble beginnings and was a jeepney driver before becoming one of the breakthrough Filipino esports athletes. This all-new roster comprised of rookies will find its spark and blaze a trail to their rise in the league.
On the other hand, ECHO seems to have made the right decision to explore aggressive trades and player scouting in building a superteam. From the original Sunsparks roster to the Aura PH squad, this version of the ECHO cast is probably the strongest ever, crushing Smart Omega in Week 1. The “TzyBros,” namely Karl Gabriel “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, Jankurt Russel “KurtTzy” Matira, and Frediemar Alaga “3MarTzy” Serafico showed outstanding performance. But will they claim victory against TNC?
