Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness Synopsis drops a lot of details for the new movie
A new Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness Synopsis dropped a lot of interesting stuff that tells us where the character is right now, where the movie will bring him and where he could end up in after the events of the new film directed by Sam Raimi.
This beautiful bit of information for the movie came from CosmicCircus.com and they pretty much translated this apparently from a Marvel Studios Japan site:
“The door of the multiverse, full of mystery and madness, opens.”
“Now that Iron Man and Captain America have left after a fierce battle in Avengers: Endgame, former genius surgeon and the strongest magician of them all, Doctor Strange, is expected to play an active role as a central figure in the Avengers. However, using his magic to manipulate time and space at will with a forbidden spell that is considered the most dangerous has opened the door to a mysterious madness called “the Multiverse.” To restore a world where everything is changing, Strange seeks help from his ally Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, and the Avengers’ most powerful Scarlet Witch, Wanda. But a terrible threat looms over humanity and the entire universe that no longer can be done by their power alone. Even more surprising, the greatest threat in the universe looks exactly like Doctor Strange …”
“Director Sam Raimi, who has expressed a unique world view, will captivate the whole world with overwhelming scale and unprecedented visual experience that will transcend time and space!”
So this is cool because while there are no legit Avengers operating at the moment post-Endgame theres this group that tend to meet up from time to time and those are still the heroes that have survived. So to count right now we have Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Captain America Sam Wilson and Bruce Banner aka the Hulk. This kind of explains why at the end of Shang-Chi we are watching these bunch of characters meeting with Shang-Chi and Katy dragged into it.
Its also interesting to note that the Strange will be dabbling more in Multiversal shenanigans and will require the help of both Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch and Wong who has now become the new Sorceror Supreme in the absence of Strange after the ending of Avengers: Infinity War.
This synopsis also kind of implies that Strange’s activity during Spider-Man: No Way Home was the last element that breaks the Multiverse down completely. Most of the Marvel Studios shows on Disney+ has done something to weaken the multiverse but it was Strange’s medding that destroyed the barriers completely.
Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness is directed by Sam Raimi and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch/ Wanda Maximoff, Benedict Wong as Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Master Mordo, Rachel McAdams, and Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez!
