Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac live action film announced with Mackenyu, Sean Bean, Famke Janssen and Mark Dacascos
Mackenyu is definitely getting good anime adaptations as he’s one of the stars (no pun intended) for the upcoming Saint Seya movie properly titled Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac for Sony Pictures!
Here’s the logline/synopsis for the film according to The Hollywood Reporter:
In what is labeled an origin story, Mackenyu is starring as Seiya, a street orphan and the title hero of the franchise. When a mystical energy known as Cosmo awakens in him, Seiya embarks on a journey to conquer the ancient Greek armor of Pegasus and choose his side in a preternatural battle for the fate of Sienna (Iseman), a young girl who struggles to control her godly powers.
Bean plays a mentor named Alman Kiddo, a man who recruits Seiya into the Knights order, which he founded when he discovered the reincarnated goddess. Tinoco is a man hired to kill the vulnerable goddess.

The film will be directed by Tomasz Baginski for Toei and Sony Pictures. The film will have a screenplay by Josh Campell and Matt Stuecken. According to THR, the film has also wrapped up production on location in Croatia and Hungary.
The movie is based on the work of Masami Kurumada and has spawned a variety of content from TV series, OVAs, anime movies and even spinoff manga series. As of writing, the original title has published a total of 35 million printed copies.
