Dark Ages # 1 Spoiler – what is the Dark Ages all about

Here’s a major Dark Ages # 1 spoiler post which is about the book written by Tom Taylor with art by Iban Coello.

This was a series written by the same guy who gave us DCeased which was also an amazing run.

Here’s the summary of what Dark Ages.

The heroes in New York City and the rest of the world gets rocked by a terrible earthquake. Spider-Man and his allies that have the spider-sense gets whacked by the early warning aspect of the power. Turns out this being called the Unmaker was imprisoned in the Earth’s core by the Living Tribunal and it has woken up.

With the Unmaker waking up,it starts bashing the core which will ultimately lead to the Earth’s destruction.

The heroes gather and form a strike team that will hopefully stop the Unmaker including The Thing, Invisible Woman, Scarlet Witch, Vision and Doctor Strange.

The team tries to attack the Unmaker but gets killed except for Stephen Strange and Sue Richards. Doctor Strange casts a spell that opens EMP energy via a portal to kill the Unmaker. Unfortunately Unmaker also kills Doctor Strange which leaves the portal open and no way to close it. The electromagnetic energy from Strange’s portal then takes out every mech and tech around the world including Iron Man midflight and Giant-Man while in his giant form.

So it’s not really a zombie scenario we’re dealing with in Dark Ages but rather a literal dark ages with the absence of electricity and power.

This also explains while the Dark Ages version of Iron Man looks like a steampunk version. It’s scary to think that the incident has effectively turned the armor into Tony Stark’s prison.
