Ironheart debuts in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
In a recent interview with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, its been revealed that Ironheart debuts in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever before she appears in other projects and her own TV series.
Kevin Feige did an interview recently with ComicBook.com and he actually mentioned that they are currently setting Ironheart to appear first in the sequel to Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther retitled to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
“We’re shooting Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, right now, and the character of Riri Williams, you will meet in Black Panther 2 first,” Feige said in an interview surrounding the release of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. “She started shooting, I think, this week before her Ironheart series.”
In the comics, Ironheart is Riri Williams, created by Brian Michael Bendis, Mike Deodato, Eve Ewing, and Kevin Libranda. She debuted in 2016’s Invincible Iron Man series. a teen prodigy discovered by Tony Stark in Chicago. Its here were she builds her own armored suit similar to Iron Man and she successfully apprehends two escaped convicts. After that, Tony Stark gave her his blessings to operate as a new armored hero. Stark also became a mentor for the talented teenager.
It’s going to be interesting to see how this pans out. Firstly because both figureheads for these two projects already has an absentee marquee star. Robert Downey Jr has officially said goodbye to his Iron Man character after he sacrificed himself to save the universe from Thanos at the climax of Avengers: Endgame. Meanwhile, Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman passed away last year due to cancer.
Meanwhile Ironheart will be starring in a series developed and produced by Marvel Stiudios and streaming on Disney+. It will be joining other upcoming titles like Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, She-Hulk and Secret Invasion.
