Loki Episode 5 gives two exceptional Thanos references
This week’s episode of Loki from Marvel Studios, which happens to be Loki episode 5, has given viewers two exceptional Thanos references throughout the episode and one of them was a throwaway gag even for Marvel.
For starters, after Loki gets “pruned” by the TVA and sent to the “Void”, he wakes up to find four versions of himself namely classic Loki, Kid Loki, Boastful Loki and “alligator Loki”. Now it turns out seconds after meeting other Loki variants, our Loki goes on the run to escape a cloud creature called “Alioth”.
These five variants end up in a mountain bunker which also has the legendary “Thanoscopter”.
Here’s a zoomed in version of the prop…
Yes, the classic Thanoscopter, the same helicopter the mad titan Thanos used when he fought Spider-Man and tried robbing banks around New York City.
Too bad Spidey foiled Thanos’ plan and the copter got benched.
The second big Thanos reference happens in a slower time in the episode when Tom Hiddleston’s Loki interacts with the other Lokis inside the bunker with Richard E. Grant’s Classic Loki sharing his story to the younger version of himself.
