March into Hearthstone’s latest expansion – Forged in the Barrens is now live!
Hearthstone’s newest expansion, Forged in the Barrens, is now live worldwide with 135 new collectible cards, the new Frenzy keyword, Ranked Spells, Legendary Mercenary Minions, and more! Past these vast sun-scorched lands lies danger… and adventure! Press on for more details about what looms on the horizon.
· New Keyword: Frenzy
This expansion features the new keyword, Frenzy, a powerful one-time effect that is triggered the first time a minion survives damage.
· New Mechanic: Spell Schools
A permanent addition to Hearthstone, Spells in Standard and Wild can now have a tag from one of seven different schools: Arcane, Fel, Fire, Frost, Holy, Shadow, Nature.
· Legendary Mercenaries
Forged in the Barrens introduces 10 Legendary Mercenary minions, each representing a different class, whose stories will play out across the Year of the Gryphon in an all-new year-long narrative!
CORE SET + SET ROTATION
In order to modernize Hearthstone for players of all types, Set Rotation 2021 will rotate all Basic and Classic cards to Wild and make versions of these playable in the new Classic Format, which went live last week, making room for a new Core Set that will update each year.
The Core Set is a revamped take on well-known cards from Basic, Classic, and Wild – buffed, revived, and revolutionized – plus an additional 31 completely new cards to complement new card synergies.
