WB announces casting of Pierce Brosnan as Dr Fate for Black Adam movie
Warner Bros Pictures has announced the official casting of Pierce Brosnan as Dr Fate for the upcoming DC Comics adaptation of Black Adam which stars Dwayne Johnson!
The James Bond star will be playing Kent Nelson, the current bearer of the helmet of Fate, a mystical helmet that transformers the wearer into Dr Fate, the mystically powered human who fights threats with magic. The character itself has been a staple of the Justice Society of America aka JSA which the New Line Cinema film looks to be going.
After all, its no coincidence that they wil be appearing in a Black Adam movie, Johnson’s Black Adam character has long been a part of the JSA whether as a member of the team or as an enemy.
We will also be seeing members of the JSA in this faux-DCEU in the form of Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone
So far we still don’t know who “Wonder Woman” and “The Old Guard” star Marwan Kenzari for an unknown role or rather an unspecified role.
This will also be the second film for DC and New Line Cinema with the first one being Shazam which starred Zachary Levi and Asher Angel in the starring role as Shazam/ Billy Batson. For that movie, it was also recently revealed that Helen Mirren will also be joining the cast as the main villain for the sequel.
Black Adam will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra with Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions acting as producers.
