Game of Thrones’ Ellaria Sand actress Indira Varma joins her “husband” in the Star Wars universe for Obi Wan series
Game of Thrones star Indira Varma has reportedly signed up for an unspecified role in the upcoming Disney+ series Obi Wan which stars Ewan McGregor as the Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars universe.
Deadline reports that Indira Varma will play an unspecified role for the series which is being produced by LucasFilm and will be streaming soon on Disney+.
As mentioned earlier, she has appeared in HBO’s Game of Thrones as the wife of Pedro Pascal’s Oberyn Martell and the mother of the dreaded Sand Snakes. By joining the Star Wars universe, she will be effectively joining her “husband” in a galaxy far, far away. Of course, we all know that Pascal is playing the lone warrior Din Djarin aka The Mandalorian in the first live action series from the Star Wars franchise.
Varma’s other works in the past includes For Life (which just aired its Season 2 finale and has yet to be renewed), Rome, Carnival Row and Luther.
The Obi Wan series will also see the return of actor Hayden Christensen who will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker and subsequently Darth Vader for the series. The casting also suggests that the series can take place before the events of Revenge of the Sith which was where the friendship between Anakin and his master Obi Wan ended tragically when Obi Wan found the high ground.
