Gina Carano no longer appearing in The Mandalorian season 3
It looks like Lucasfilm has already given The Mandalorian star Gina Carano to booth with some crediting the sacking due to her recent social media thoughts.
Her latest triggering remark on social media likened current Republicans to Jewish people back in World War II during the Nazi Holocaust. Of course this does not sit well with the owners of the Star Wars franchise, Disney who maintain a politically correct stand especially when it comes to their talents and people working on their franchise.
“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future,” a Lucasfilm spokesperson said in a statement. “Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
Following that report about her firing from The Mandalorian TV series, it was also revealed that she has been dropped by the UTA which was eventually confirmed by one of the agency’s spokespersons.
The actor’s other body of work includes The Mandalorian where she played ex-Rebel shocktrooper Cara Dune, Madness in the Method, Daughter of the Wolf, Deadpool, Extraction, Heist, Fast and Furious 6 and Haywire.
While I do like her character and her casting and her previous MMA career, it really shouldn’t be a shock too that she’s no longer on the show. If you think about it, the Mandalorian will start veering away from galactic politics (which is where the Cara Dune character works best) and more towards the Mandalorian mythos. So having her for another season logically could just be a guest appearance. So it’s not a total biggie if you think about removing her from the show completely.
