Was that MechaGodzilla in the Godzilla vs Kong official trailer?

Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures dropped the Godzilla vs Kong official trailer on Monday, much to the glee of people everywhere but keen eyed fanboys and fangirls spotted something else. They could have sworn that was MechaGodzilla in a quick scene.

Check out the photos from the trailer that seems to think that the classic Godzilla baddie has already been subtly revealed.

There’s a lot of buzz citing this monster thats attacking Hong Kong seems to glow red while the previous films have established that Godzilla emits a blue light or energy. Even his atomic breath is blue as seen in both the original Godzilla movie and the sequel, Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Even more interesting is the fact that the son of Ken Watanabe’s Professor Serizawa is also here. He is played by Shun Oguri and named Ren Serizawa.

Notice what’s displayed on the background of this still image. It definitely looks like the mechanical counterpart of the G-Man himself.

The film stars Alexander Skarsgård (“Big Little Lies”), Millie Bobby Brown (“Stranger Things”), Rebecca Hall (“Iron Man 3”), Brian Tyree Henry (“Joker”), Shun Oguri (“Weathering with You”), Eiza González (“Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw”), Julian Dennison (“Deadpool 2”), with Kyle Chandler (“Godzilla: King of the Monsters”) and Demián Bichir (“The Nun”).

Wingard (“The Guest,” “You’re Next”) directed from a screenplay by Eric Pearson (“Thor: Ragnarok”) and Max Borenstein (“Godzilla: King of the Monsters,” “Kong: Skull Island”), story by Terry Rossio (“Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge”) and Michael Dougherty & Zach Shields (“Godzilla: King of the Monsters”), based on the character “Godzilla” owned and created by TOHO CO., LTD. The film was produced by Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Eric McLeod, Jon Jashni, Thomas Tull and Brian Rogers, with Jay Ashenfelter, Herbert W. Gains, Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira executive producing.

The director’s behind-the-scenes creative team included director of photography Ben Seresin (“The Mummy,” “World War Z”), production designers Owen Paterson (“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”) and Thomas S.
