Uncharted movie release date moved to February 11 2022
Sony Pictures had recently announced that they are pushing the Uncharted movie release date from the original date of July 16, 2021 and moved to almost a year.
The new Uncharted movie release date would now be February 11, 2022 due in part to the coronavirus aka COVID-19.
The film’s release date and moving it around had worried fans around the world due to the film’s star also topbilling the untitled Spider-Man 3 movie co-created by Marvel Studios but it would seem like the new release date has put those worries behind.
The film will star Holland as Nathan Drake based on the hit Playstation game titles. Joining Holland in his adventure is veteran actor Mark Wahlberg who will be playing Drake’s mentor and friend Sully.
Uncharted also had a slew of director changes namely going from Travis Knight (Bumblebee) to the current director, Ruben Fleischer, who also directed Venom. It was originally intended for December 2020 release but had to be pushed back due to shift in directors. Then it was set for March 2021, then October 2021, backpedalling to July 2021 and now settling into a comfy albeit farther February 2022 release date.
Last year, Holland told fans on Instagram, ”Filming is going so well. The film is like, everything I dreamed it would be. I mean, I don’t know if you guys played the games, but I was such a huge fan of the game, and it’s been going so well.”
The movie adaptation will also star Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle!
