OPPO Reno4 Review
OPPO is back here in thefanboyseo.com with my new OPPO Reno4 review. The smartphone features 8GB RAM +128GB ROM and 48MP Wide Angle Camera together with 32MP Selfie Camera! Its out now for just P18990!
Here’s what comes with the Reno4:
- Jelly case
- Wall charger
- USB cable
- user manuals + sim ejector
OPPO introduces a new and supposedly trendy look for the OPPO Reno4 and that’s called the “Reno Glow”. Simply put, they added glitters to the plastic matte finish of the back as well as on the sides.
I found the screen/ display for the Reno4 to be just right. Clocking in at 6.4-inch, it features a Full HD AMOLED display with 409 PPI. Maximum resolution for the screen is 2400 x 1080 which is also the ideal size for enjoying your Netflix or your games.
UI and UX
The smartphone comes with ColorOS 7.2 (Based on Android 10) and you can see how smooth the movement is and the interface is.
OPPO is also hyping up an improved “AI-enhanced Smart Sensor” which is a superior way of using gestures to make certain actions on the phone. Here’s a sample.
Did it work for me? Yes in some ways and it does actually work but I’m a pragmatic guy and I don’t really use this as much as I should. But it does come in handy.
As mentioned earlier, the OPPO Reno4 features Quad rear cameras: 48-megapixel f/1.7 IMX586 main camera; 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera; 2-megapixel f/2.4 mono camera; 2-megapixel f/2.4 macro camera; with PDAF, LED flash. It also has a 32MP Selfie Camera. Here are some test shots using the phone.
Another fresh feature is the Night Flare Portrait which elevates your selfies when used at night and with a dim background. They also did a revamp for the night mode and dark mode which gives us better outputs using the rear camera.
One unique feature that the Reno4 has is the AI Color Portrait which does this whole Schindler’s List/ Pleasantville thing with your shots. Felt a little gimmicky but it has its uses especially if you want to highlight your subject a little more. Watch the video on how to take photos using the AI Color Portrait:
The smartphone can shoot good videos as well as this new feature called the 960fps AI Slow-motion which they describe as “Reno4 quadruples the number of moments we can record in a second, enabling a 960fps slow-motion playback.”
Tiktok fans will also be happy with the SOLOOP Smart Video Editor which lets users instantly combined their clips with a background track to get the perfect TikTok vibe.
The Reno4 comes with a 4015mAh battery w/ VOOC 4.0 30W fast charging support. This makes the phone a good option for your daily driver but don’t expect it to yield the same results with heavy usage. A marathon session of games like Genshin Impact quickly drained the phone.

OPPO Reno4 Review – Verdict
I found the OPPO Reno4 quite a refreshing take on smartphones. It’s tactile and sticks to the necessary stuff opting to ditch the fancy aesthetics other smartphones are doing. The phone has a dependable battery life and also packs some great features I truly loved like the Slow motion video feature and the AI Color Portrait. It shoots good photos with a great resolution which can be seen in a good screen. The aspect ratio can be objectively good and the simple front camera design is also another thing worth taking note.
The OPPO Reno4 is currently available for just ₱18,990.00
