John Cena’s Peacemaker getting his own HBO Max series

James Gunn announced on his Facebook page that they are doing a full series featuring John Cena as Peacemaker, one of the characters for the upcoming “The Suicide Squad” film set for release 2021.

Here’s what Gunn wrote on his Facebook page captioned together with the art/ poster.

I’m over-the-moon excited to be working on #PEACEMAKER with my pals John Cena & #TheSuicideSquad producer Peter Safran on this new HBO Max original series from Warner Bros. TV DC Comics

No word yet when this will be out but I’m thinking this is actually going to be released some time after “The Suicide Squad”.

The Suicide Squad is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics antihero team Suicide Squad. Set for distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures, it is intended to be a soft reboot and standalone sequel to Suicide Squad (2016) and the tenth film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film, written and directed by James Gunn, stars an ensemble cast led by Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Joel Kinnaman, Peter Capaldi, and Viola Davis.
