New Tron movie is happening with Jared Leto and “Lion” Director Garth Davis

Disney is actually moving forward with the new TRON movie with Jared Leto (Suicide Squad) and Garth Davis (Lion) although its still untitled at the moment.

Deadline reports this new development.

Davis is known for films like Mary Magdalene 2018 and 2016’s Lion. That film has received a total of six Oscar nominations including the Best Picture. This will also be the first mainstream film for Davis; it’s also the first big budget project.

It’s also revealed that Davis actively and aggresively pursued the project. Jesse Wigutow wrote the most recent draft of the script. Leto is producing along with Justin Springer and Emma Ludbrook.

There are currently two TRON movies out there namely the original Tron film from 1982 which starred Jeff Bridges. There was also Tron: Legacy from 2010 which starred Garret Hedlund and Olivia Wilde. Jeff Bridges also returned in that one both in his current age and a de-aged version.
