Scott Lobdell officially stepping down as Red Hood writer after issue #50

Writer Scott Lobdell has officially announced his departure from the DC Comics title Red Hood and the Outlaws with issue #50.

Here’s what he wrote:

Lobdell has been writing the adventures and misadventures of Red Hood aka Jason Todd as early as the start of the New 52 initiative years ago.

He has actually put Jason through hell and back and even introduced two sets of friends and allies starting with Roy Harper and Starfire and into the DC Rebirth era with Bizarro and Artemis. The New 52 volume of “Outlaws” ran for 40 issues and was kickstarted by Lobdell with artist Kenneth  Rocafort and was launched in 2011.

Red Hood and the Outlaws # 1 (2011, New 52)

It’s still up in the air who will be taking over the writing chores after issue #50 but I’m sure this would be another exciting era for Jason Todd. I can only hope though that Artemis and Bizarro stick around for what comes next.
