Indian Government Bans WeChat, TikTok and More
It looks like the Indian government is looking to put the banhammer on various apps that are based in China in their country including the popular app TikTok and WeChat.
There’s a total of 59 Chinese apps that have been banned by the Indian government citing these apps as “prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, security of state and public order.”
The Ministry of Information Technology added that the ban was supposed to be due to “many complaints from various sources” which includes “stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users’ data in an unauthorized manner to servers outside India.”
