Smuggled Ginebra San Miguel found inside a coffin in Quarantine Checkpoint

That’s some hardcore prohibition era smuggling right there. A set of photos supposedly somewhere in Luzon has surfaced showing a coffin filled with Ginebra San Miguel. A little disclaimer about this trending story though, its been passed on so much in last day or so that its hard to get an accurate source for these photos and additional context.

For some context, The Philippines, particularly Luzon is currently on lockdown or as we lovingly refer to as Extended Community Quarantine. This lockdown was caused by the scary pandemic we now refer to as COVID-19. We have been locked down for almost two months now with a possible GCQ coming by May 15. Along with the lockdown are some hard stamps of stuff including a Liquor ban.

This leads us to this post’s main story. A bunch of guys went and did some hardcore prohibition stuff and put booze in a coffin and placed it inside a hearse so it can slip through the quarantine checkpoints in borders.

Unfortunately for these guys, the military personnel handling the checkpoint were thorough with their check…

So lo and behold, a coffin full of gin.
