Uniqlo Partners with Gundam again this year for Gunpla 40th Anniversary UT collection
Last year was a big year for Uniqlo and Gundam and they had a major release with mini events and I even got to be one of the first few who owned shirts from Uniqlo. And now it looks like they will be doing another run, this time with the theme of Gunpla 40th Anniversary UT collection.
So there’s a slight difference from last year’s release. Last year was all about the original Gundam series which featured Amuro Ray and the so-called “lolo Gundam” or “Grampa Gundam”, the RX-72 Gundam. This year’s release will focus more on the actual gunpla products or it strikes me as a celebration of all the good things about gunpla (which is a term referring to the gundam toys or gundam plastics).
Check out the shirts coming soon…
As you can see above, there will also be exclusive gunpla figures coming with this collection namely the HGUC RX-78-2 Gundam and HGUC Char’s Zaku II. The thing is it may or may not appear in the local stores. Let me take a bit of risk here when I say this but the main license holder in the Philippines Ban Kee may or may not allow the release of these gunpla. Still there’s still hope.
The reports from Gundam Kits Collection suggest that there will be Gunpla kits for stores in the Philippines. So let’s keep our fingers crossed for the release date for this. I sure would pick this particular shirt up…
