Infected Shazam vs Batman and Superman
Although I’m not too keen on The Batman Who Laughs’ popularity at the moment, I do like where Joshua Williamson and David Marquez are doing with the latest volume of Batman Superman where the World’s Finest are on a mission to beat The Batman Who Laughs and stop his the infected heroes he’s working with. In the first two issues of the book alone, we get to see who he managed to infect and its none other than the Mightiest Mortal, Shazam. Here’s a look at the Infected Shazam vs Batman and Superman from issues 1 and 2.
In this story arc, Batman and Superman are looking for The Batman Who Laughs after the events of the limited series and their hunt starts with a lead from Commissioner Gordon. They end up in a Batcave created by the Joker-Batman hybrid underneath Crime Alley, the place where Thomas and Martha Wayne were gunned down by Joe Chill which kickstarted Bruce Wayne’s career as the Dark Knight.
They also discover that The Batman who Laughs had made six batarangs made of Nth metal infused with the Joker serum which also created the Batman who Laughs. Now the duo needs to find out who the Joker intended to infect and turn into his henchmen.
The two heroes investigate the place and gets attacked by one of the “crow” Robins…
Turns out this “crow” was actually Billy Batson aka Shazam and the next thing they know, Billy calls on the lightning…
Shazam takes down Batman and Superman after being blindsided…
The duo manages to get back up and try to fight infected Shazam…
Shazam insults Batman and shows off his powers above ground…
Superman flies off to rescue some people who are about to be crushed by Shazam’s shenanigans and is royally pissed.
He does back down when Shazam turns back to Billy Batson, but that’s also a fake out.
This encounter does buy Batman some time as the caped crusader joins the fight with the Batwing in what could have been one of the coolest moments involving Batman…
This bad ass moment however falls short as Shazam makes quick work of Batman.
Of course this won’t be the last time the two encounter Shazam. They are getting more than what they can handle in future issues of Batman Superman.
They have already revealed the new evil Secret Six too along the way.
So there you go, Infected Shazam vs Batman and Superman from Batman Superman # 1 and 2.
