We Almost had a Green Lantern in Zack Snyder’s Justice League
Today we take a look at some of the teases and clues for a possible Green Lantern appearance in DC Comics’ and Warner Bros Pictures’ Justice League which was originally directed by Zack Snyder before it was given to Joss Whedon for completion. That’s right, We Almost had a Green Lantern in Zack Snyder’s Justice League!
Before we begin, there will be spoilers for Justice League here so if you haven’t seen the movie, be warned. You can also read my review for the film which was posted a few years ago already. Also, most of the things here have never been confirmed so take all of these with a massive amount of salt.
For starters, there’s an actor who was never really credited in the film who posted some neat clues to the Green Lantern that was supposed to appear in Justice League. His name apparently is Sam Benjamin.
There’s not a lot of details or materials to go by but from the photos arranged by the OP of this story/ theory, you would see that this Green Lantern is a hybrid of Hal Jordan and Kyle Rayner. I have to say those that the dude really is more like Hal Jordan than anything else. The actor’s even given a look that’s similar to Jordan with the jacket and all as evidenced by these close up photos.
There were also alleged screenshots of a tweet that Benjamin posted on his Twitter account that kinda teased his involvement in Justice League and his role as the rumored Green Lantern.
It doesn’t get more teaser-y than that.
So there’s that tease again that he’s playing mum on whether he’s (a) Green Lantern and (b) that he’s Kyle Rayner or Hal Jordan.
There were ealso some photos that were snapped from various clips or BTS where there was an unmarked costume that was lying around together with costumes of other characters like Aquaman and The Flash.
For this last one below, I really don’t see the connection as there was never anything that connected Christina Wren’s character with Carol Ferris, who happens to be Hal’s one great love and eventual champion for the Star Sapphires. That one’s a bit of stretch but hey, we take everything with a grain of salt for this post anyway, so why the hell not.
So there, We Almost had a Green Lantern in Zack Snyder’s Justice League but too bad we may never see that happen. Even we fans and haters would get to see the supposed Snyder cut of Justice League, it may not include this oversized Green Lantern reference/ nod.
