Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Infinite Crisis #1 Depicts Blue Beetle Shooting Maxwell Lord Instead

Maxwell Lord has a big week and even a big quarter ahead of him. Not only has it been confirmed by Patty Jenkins that Pedro Pascal will be playing Lord in Wonder Woman 1984, the character is also set to appear in Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Infinite Crisis #1 if only for a short while though.

  • DC’s mega-event Infinite Crisis saw the dissolution of the Trinity, the rise of Alexander Luthor and Superboy-Prime, and the rebirth of the Multiverse…but it started with Ted Kord, the Blue Beetle, who saw it all coming and died with secrets that could’ve saved the world. But…things happened differently in the Dark Multiverse! In the fourth Tales from the Dark Multiverse one-shot, not only does Blue Beetle survive—he thrives! And after killing Maxwell Lord himself, Ted sets off a chain of events that irreversibly alters the lives of the Justice League and his best friend, Booster Gold. In trying to prevent a crisis, Blue Beetle becomes the Crisis…and the Dark Multiverse will never be the same.

Pretty brutal but damn intriguing. Will Ted Kord somehow find a way to merge with the OMAC and Brother Eye? How will this resolve anything? I remember the central core of Infinite Crisis was the story of Superman Prime and Earth 2 Superman. Will this mean that Kord becoming an OMAC has something to do with that?

I gotta re-read the OMAC/ Brother Eye story to see how this will fit once more.
