Send Donations to your favorite Charities with GCash with GCash for Good Campaign

Now its easier for you, me and 20 million GCash users to send donations to charitable institutions thanks to the power of GCash with the launch of the GCash for Good campaign.

gcash for good campaign

In an event held at One Canvas Events Place in Makati City, the guys and gals running the show for GCash aka Mynt announced that the app is now able to send over denominations from user’s accounts and send it to partner institutions. That’s right, the 20 million GCash users around the world can now support their chosen charity to make financial help faster and easier.

This was made in part with a recent Global Trends study which revealed that there are 54% of people who donate online. There’s also been a big spike in donations as of 2017, which saw growth of 12.1% from the previous years.

With this in mind, Globe Fintech Innovations Inc., (Mynt) formally launched last Friday GCash For Good, its corporate social responsibility arm.

Mynt President Anthony Thomas states:

“We have always strived to build a better financial ecosystem in the Philippines, and as a socially responsible corporate citizen, we want to leverage on our strength as a digital platform to help others create a better country moving forward. Our purpose for creating GCash For Good lies in our ardent desire to encourage generosity among Filipinos. We want to also create more opportunities to allow people to give and give back to the communities.”

Here are some of the foundations and institutions you can now send donations to with the use of the GCash app

  • ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. (ALKFI)
  • Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc.
  • Animal Kingdom Foundation, Inc.
  • Benilde SDEAS
  • BIOFIN
  • Caritas Manila Inc.
  • Children’s Hour Philippines Foundation, Inc.
  • Fishers & Changemakers, Inc.
  • Daluhay Daloy ng Buhay, Inc.
  • ECHOsi Foundation
  • GREAT Women
  • HERO Foundation, Inc.
  • HOPE
  • HOUSE Foundation
  • Investments in Loving Organizations for Village Economics (ILOVE)
  • Kythe Foundation, Inc.
  • Mindoro Biodiversity Conservation Foundation, Inc.
  • Philippine Dogs and Cats Rescuers Association, Inc.
  • Pusod, Inc.
  • Saret Organic Farmville
  • World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines
  • ICanServe
  • PhilBio
  • Haribon
  • PHAPCares Foundation, Inc.
  • Save The Children
  • The Philippine Red Cross

And if you think it was a walk in the part to get their donation status up and running, you are sorely wrong as these foundations also went through a rigorous process to be able to join the list of partners under the GCash for Good campaign. NGOs who also passed the necessary requirements and screenings were then given their own GCash QR codes. This in turn makes it easier for people to donate to their causes when they are outside doing good work.

As for Mynt, they have announced plans to join campaigns that they adhere and support including deforestation, waste incineration and importation of wastes to name a few.
