The Suicide Squad adds Michael Rooker as King Shark
James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad gets another Gunn alum with the addition of Michael Rooker as King Shark.
The character was originally supposed to appear in the first Suicide Squad movie but was replaced last minute by Killer Croc. He was created by Karl Kessel for DC Comics and had made several appearances in the books including, you guessed it, Suicide Squad.
Meanwhile Rooker is no stranger to working with the producer-director and even comic book adaptations. He appeared as Merle Dixon in AMC’s The Walking Dead.
He was also the Ravager Yondu, Peter Quill’s adoptive father in Guardians of the Galaxy vol 1 and vol 2.
Aside from Michael Rooker as King Shark, we also have several returning cast members like Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang. Other cast members include John Cena, Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian and more.
The Suicide Squad is expected to be released August 2021.
