How Did Wolverine Return? (Return of Wolverine # 5)

In Return of Wolverine # 5 we finally find out how Wolverine was brought back to life. Or to be more precise, how exactly was he revived?

In this final issue for the miniseries written by Charles Soule and art by Steve McNiven, we learn that Logan was already targeted by the mysterious mutant known as Persephone.

The reveal was done in the Persephone’s space station where she has also housed a collection of some of the best and brightest minds.

Persephone reveals that her mutant powers is to revive the dead. That means she has access to anything and anyone dead. And with Wolverine’s healing factor, he would be the unstoppable force under her control.

My main concern with this story is that it doesn’t make sense with his return in Marvel Legacy # 1.

This does tie in neatly with all the Hunt for Wolverine minis which featured stories with Iron Man, Kitty Pryde and even Daredevil. Of course that story ended with Persephone pushing the X-Men’s buttons and preventing them from looking for their fallen friend.
