Julie Andrews is joining Aquaman for a Surprise role

Mary Poppins star Julie Andrews is apparently in Warner Bros. Pictures’ Aquaman.

The British actress was not part of the line up but shes actually in the film. she apparently voiced the character Karathen.

The Karathen is an undersea creature that helps Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Mera (Amber Heard) on their quest.

Peter Safran, Aquaman producer, had this to say about the casting.

We wanted the Karathen to have the voice of a classic British actress, albeit somewhat digitally altered. And when we found out Julie was interested and available and excited to do it, casting her was a no-brainer.

Interestingly enough, Aquaman will open on the same day as Mary Poppins Returns, a role that made Andrews a household name decades ago.

This could be a coincidence or some weird marketing ploy.
