Our Top 7 Stan Lee Cameos
Stan Lee has done a lot of things for geeks everywhere and while he’s the “father” of Marvel comics, he’s also become an icon when it comes to cameos in Marvel and even DC movies. Here are our top 7 Stan Lee cameos!
- Iron Man
The first MCU cameo should be in the list and that’s none other than his appearance in 2008’s Iron Man starring Robert Downey Jr. and directed by Jon Favreau.
This one’s also funny because of the fact that the movie had finally said it, people actually get Hugh Hefner mixed up with Stan Lee from time to time.
2. Spider-Man (2002)
When Marvel was returning to form with the release of X-Men and then Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, Stan Lee was slowly building up his mastery over cameos. In this cameo where he encounters Toby Maguire, we see him saving the life of a kid as they get caught in an overhead explosion.
Nothing like being a reel life hero in the movies of one of your creations.
3. Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007)
Hold up. Wait a minute. You read that right. “Rise of the Silver Surfer” is in this list. But you have to admit, this had more gravitas and a bit funnier compared to the future cameos that Stan did with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Also its got a different twist here, with Stan being turned away from the wedding of Reed and Sue.
4.Captain America: The Winter Soldier
This is my fourth entry mostly because its got a good payoff from the start of the movie and at the same time its a very good reminder just how old Stan was.
5. Ant-Man
This one joins my top 7 list of Stan Lee cameos because of the sheer comedy they have with Michael Pena doing a voice over for Stan Lee’s performance as they try to look for the “Ant-Man”.
6.Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2
This was one HUGE for me. This cameo pretty much confirmed that Lee was a Watcher and has been working with the other Watchers of the galaxy. And as we see him in GOTG vol 2, he’s already recounting his experiences with the other Watchers as Yondu, Rocket and Baby Groot’s ship zips past by them on the way to Ego the Living Planet.
7. Big Hero 6
I picked this as the last cameo because it actually gives Stan Lee a meaty dialogue, a straight connection to one of the main characters (as Fred’s father) and a superhero. An honest to goodness superhero.
So there you go. We’ll miss Stan Lee not just for his comic book movie but for his words and actions for fans and geeks all around the world/
