Rampant Review
Thefanboyseo.com presents is Rampant review. It stars Hyun Bin, Jang Dong-gun and directed by Kim Sung-hoon.
What’s appealing to me is the fact that it mixes unlikely genres together and that’s Korean period films and the zombie genre.
So what do you get?
A fun time that’s what.
Viewers take note that we’re doing dark territory here with over the top violence and lots of thrills and of course gore.
The costumes and dialogues are what truly makes the movie distinctly Korean. There were a lot of moments in the movie I consider light but when the chasing the tense moments play, you bet your ass everybody was mesmerized.
Look, I know that most of the ladies will be seeing Korean movies for the leading men and leading ladies and for this Rampant review, the same still holds true.
The visual effects are comparable to Train to Busan which was a big hit back then and still holds a lot of emotional kicks until today. That’s what’s really missing for me with Rampant. You kinda like the characters at the start of the movie but towards the end, I was going “oh he’s dead. mmmkay”.
Hyun Bing as a leading man has perfected his craft. He knows how to project and he knows just how to react. It’s still fresh to see the man the My Name is Kim Sam Soon playing a formerly rejected royal returning to his home to fend off zombies. That’s kinda new.
But watch it for the thrills and chills.
