LucasFilms releases Official Photos for Darth Maul from the Solo Movie
LucasFilms has shared two new photos featuring the former Sith Lord Darth Maul during his appearance in this year’s Solo: A Star Wars Story and even though its been years, he still looks menacing.
Maul “died” at the end of Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace at the hands of Obi Wan Kenobi and while we initially thought he was dead, he managed to survive and make his way back to his homeworld where he discards everything Sith and starts a new crime organization called the Crimson Dawn.
His cameo in Solo was great though. We get to see him interact with Qi’Ra (Emilia Clarke) who reports the death of Paul Bettany’s character to the secret head of the criminal organization.
The keyword for the Solo: A Star Wars movie cameo is “robot legs”.
That’s actually pretty cool to be honest. I would have preferred the spider legs but the humanoid legs are A-OK too.

Funny thing about this whole thing is that Ray Park, the man behind the face paint and prosthetics, had been saying for years now that he’ll be playing the role of Darth Maul once more in a future movie and everybody was like “yeah, yeah”.
Boy were we wrong.
Also, Park did the physical work for this movie but the voice used for Maul was that of veteran Star Wars voice talent Sam Witwer.
Solo: A Star Wars Story will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray later this quarter. Check out my Solo movie review HERE.
