Nathan Fillion is Uncharted’s Nathan Drake in New 15 Minute Short

Firefly star Nathan Fillion recently teased a new project which eventually turned out to be a new short film based on the video game Uncharted where he plays the lead character Nathan Drake.

The shortfilm also features Stephen Lang (Avatar, Don’t Breathe) as Victor “Sully” Sullivan, Mircea Monroe (Episodes) as Elena Fischer and Geno Segers (Bone Tomahawk).

I also spotted Ernie Reyes as El Tigre, that guy who beat up Nathan (Drake not Fillion) in the story.

So while there have been talks of doing an Uncharted movie even before the fourth game came out, Uncharted: A Thief’s End, but there was barely any movement whatsoever. Until now. Take note also that this was not sanctioned by Naughty Dog and had limited budget. It’s pretty much a labor of love for Fillion and his crew.

Remember though, this was the sort of strategy that Ryan Reynolds and his team did which got the Deadpool movie made.

Who knows, maybe this will convince Sony to stop making non-MCU Spider-man movies and focus on the stuff they can do like a God of War movie that’s actually cool or a new Uncharted movie which will star Nathan Fillion.
