BrickYard Opens in Glorietta 2 Bigger and Better than Ever

The BrickYard, Metro Manila’s premiere destination for all things Mini4WD enthusiasts, has opened its doors to fans, now with a bigger and better look in it’s new home at the 3rd level of Glorietta 2. And what better way to open the place with a special appearance of the President and Chairman of the Tamiya brand, Mr. Shunsaku Tamiya.

The BrickYard formerly operated as a pop-up Mini4WD race track and hobby space that sparked interest anew in 4WD. This pop-up space was located in Glorietta 5.

This new BrickYard place in Glorietta 2 can be found just beside the iconic Lil’s Hobby Center and features two race tracks. One track is designed for beginners while the other one has intermediate enthusiasts in mind. Unlike the previous space, this new BrickYard has a bigger space for guests who want to build and tinker with their Mini4WD kits. There’s also a small store within the premise for quick fixes and upgrades on model cars.

The opening of the new BrickYard was also a momentous occasion because it became an avenue to reveal a limited edition BrickYard Mini4WD kit. The reveal was graced by the owner, Mr. Ferdie Khan and Mr. Tamiya among others.

As for the pleasant Mr. Tamiya, he was more than pleased signing autographs and posed with the store’s guests and patrons. He also seemed happy to see the turn out for the opening with people lining up as early as 10 a.m. to be able to see him in person and have their photos taken with him.

He said:

It makes me very happy to see that Tamiya is still well-loved in the Philippines.

Mr. Khan also showed pure happiness for both the opening of the new BrickYard as well as the turn out of Tamiya fans during the event.

“I’m excited for our new venue,” Ferdie said. “When we opened the BrickYard last year, we wanted to rekindle the hearts of the old hobbyists and the older fans back to their love of Mini4WD. Now, we love seeing these older fans, most of them now parents themselves, bringing their children to the BrickYard. There’s just something great about watching parents teach and show their kids everything they know about Mini4WDs and RCs. That alone is a wonderful thing,” he added.
